Insuladd's® Independent Geoscience Labs Tests

Geoscience Labs Testing

Need proof Insuladd® keeps out elements? Check out these independent test results!

Geoscience Ltd. is a research and development laboratory that performs thermal physics testing of materials and insulation systems. This sophisticated organization has provided testing and results on Insuladd® illustrating that the insulating paint additive will enhance any ordinary paint that you use to coat your home or business. The Geoscience test results below prove that Insuladd® is about the smartest element you can add to paint to keep the out the elements.

The addition of Insuladd® additive to your common house paint increases the energy efficiency by up to 38%. That means a big savings for you by decreasing utility bills. But in addition to slashing costs, your home will feel more comfortable because, while you and are family are in your house, the elements remain outside.

The addition of Insuladd® additive can improve the effective "R" value, or Resistance value, of common wall types by over 50%. That improves the resistance to heat and by about half the value of ordinary paint.

The tests by Geoscience proved the benefits of Insuladd® are indisputable, "When the walls are painted with Insuladd®, the 'R' factor increases. ..."

The following is a study of the energy savings that can occur when using Insuladd® solar reflective paint on irradiated building walls. The resistance to heat and cold improved dramatically! The testing reported by Geoscience Labs shows the effective "R" value improvement of "R" 6 in the wall model to which Insuladd® has been applied:

In a 2x4 wood stud wall with R-11 insulation batts, ½” plywood exterior and ½” gypsum wall board interior, the actual “R” value that occurs is 9.6. When the walls are painted with Insuladd®, the “R” factor increases to 15.6. Resistance increased. THAT’S A FACT!

Who is Geoscience?

The company performs many ASTM insulation tests and a staff member is involved in ASTM C16 committee activities.

In the case of the solar irradiated test panel studies presented here, the test method was devised to simulate the real thermal system involved. It is pointed out, however, that simpler ASTM tests, namely, ASTM C-518 and E-1530 follow the general procedures used in the Geoscience testing.
